Auburn University's College of Nursing is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time faculty position specializing in pediatric nursing education. This is a 12-month, non-tenure track role based on campus. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate nursing students in classroom, clinical, and community settings. Ideal candidates should possess expertise as pediatric or family nurse practitioners with substantial experience in pediatric healthcare. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic nursing program while maintaining clinical practice expertise.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing education across diverse learning environments
- Deliver classroom instruction and clinical supervision in pediatric nursing
- Teach undergraduate and graduate nursing students
- Maintain current clinical expertise and professional certifications
- Develop innovative curriculum and teaching materials
- Mentor students in academic and clinical settings
- Contribute to program development and accreditation processes
- Participate in student evaluation and academic advising
- Ensure high standards of nursing education are maintained
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nursing upon appointment commencement
- Current clinical competence and practical skills
- Certification as pediatric or family nurse practitioner
- Documented experience in pediatric nursing practice
- Eligibility for Alabama registered nursing licensure
- Authorization to work in the United States
Desirable skills
- Doctoral degree in Nursing or related discipline
- Previous teaching experience in bachelor's degree programs
- Additional certification as pediatric nurse practitioner
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience with diverse student populations and learning styles
