Why the universe after big bang did not collapse into a black hole?

Why did not the early universe just after the Big Bang collapse into a black hole despite the massive gravitational forces present during its early stages? What did prevent the intense mass and energy from condensing into a singularity? How did the expansion of the universe counterbalance the pull of gravity to avoid such a collapse?
