IP

IP stands for Internet Protocol.

There are two versions of IP in use today:

  1. IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4): This is the most widely used version, featuring 32-bit addresses, which allows for about 4.3 billion unique addresses.
  2. IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6): This version was developed to address the exhaustion of IPv4 addresses. It uses 128-bit addresses, allowing for a virtually unlimited number of unique addresses.

User Agent

A user agent is a string of text that identifies the client software originating a request on a network, typically a web browser. It provides information about the client software and operating system to the server, allowing the server to tailor responses to the specific capabilities of the client. User agents can also be used for web analytics, content customization, and troubleshooting.

A typical user agent string includes the following information:

  1. Browser Name and Version: Identifies the browser making the request.
  2. Operating System: Specifies the operating system on which the browser is running.
  3. Device Type: Indicates if the client is running on a mobile device, tablet, desktop, etc.
  4. Rendering Engine: Describes the engine the browser uses to render web pages (e.g., Gecko, WebKit).
